Tru64 Hobbyist Licenses? was created by Bruce Claremont
Recently I acquired a complete HP Tru64 UNIX V5.1B-6 box kit, with everything up to the most recent firmware and patches included. The only remaining problem: PAKs. Is there a ‘hobbyist’ program or something similar to it?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no counterpart to the VMS Hobbyist program for Tru64. I sure hope someone proves me wrong on this. This was the most recent post I turned up searching on "tru64 hobbyist program":

If you are an HP Alliance One partner, Tru64 PAKs are available via the Alliance web site.

The recent Tru64 kits ship with either a two, or a four user licence (OSF-USER). To use the multi-user license, you also need an osf base licence pak (OSF-BASE) matched to the class of Alpha you wish to use it on. There used to be an Alpha LURT Table on the HP site, but last time I checked, it had gone. However, the As400 (Avanti/FreeAXP) only needs the lowest point OSF-BASE pak. There are usually several for sale on eBay.

You don't need the paks if you only want to log in as root.
