When I start the AvantiFlex software, I am getting the message:

ff.fe.fd.fc.fb.fa.f9.f8.f7.
ERROR: ISA table corrupt!
Initializing table to defaults
type >>>init to use these changes
f6.f5.
ef.df.ee.ed.ec.f4.eb.ea.

Defaulting to 1mS per tick

I would like to be able to fix this to allow me to change boot configuration
settings so that I can automatically boot when starting the emulation.
If I try to SET BOOTDEF_DEV (or anything else) the setting does not stay set
between shutting down and restarting the emulator. Doing the INIT does not
make the settings stay set either.

How do I get the settings to stay set when I restart the emulator?

Use the console "exit" command to save nvram and toy settings. Provided you are using a reasonably recent version of Avanti, these settings are also periodically saved as FreeAXP runs. See the following User Guide sections for additional information.

- Section 7.8 FIRST LAUNCH MESSAGES
- Section 7.10.1 OpenVMS Auto Boot

I was using the EXIT command and had read and was referencing those section of the manual but it was not saving the settings.

I figured it out this morning. When I had first setup the disks I used my local machine with a directory off of C: but when I moved it all to the server, the device changed to F: and the directory remained the same. I had changed the path through the configuration utility to F: for the disks but the path for the NVR and TOY files were still pointing to C: and the directory did not exist there. I edited the CFG file and changed the paths for the NVR and TOY files to F: and it all started working.

I did not see any way of changing those paths through the configuration utility.

The paths settings in the configuration utility are available under the advanced settings [+] on either side of the [i:]PCI bus[/i:] label. Judicious use of the <base> keyword can be helpful in this situation.
