Configuration utility unresponsive was created by lottabull
Open the utility, locate the configuration file, click open, and the utility hangs. The window eventually goes dim and says Not Responding. Serial Console opens briefly then closes.
Version 598 on Windows Server 2012 R2 64bit.
On server reboot the FreeAXP serial console opens but never seems to display anything.
Was running fine yesterday.

Any updates to Windows since yesterday? Microsoft introduced a bug that interfered with the WinPCAP driver which causes a hang problem with the config utility like what you reported. Updating to the current Windows patch level should fix it. You might need to re-install FreeAXP to complete the fix.

No Windows updates since Jan 19th.
Had seemed to work fine since then.
Wait a minute.
I installed Wireshark which also has WinPCAP.
Sounds like a potential conflict.

Uninstalling Wireshark hung at uninstalling WinPCAP.
Set FreeAXP service to Manual start and reset the PC.
Uninstalled FreeAXP, then uninstalling WinPCAP worked.
Reinstalled FreeAXP and it seems to work normally again.
Thanks Bruce!

Okay, I believe Wireshark is running WinPCAP 4.1.3. For some reason this is interfering with the NDIS driver installed with FreeAXP. We will investigate. If you install WinPCAP 4.1.2, it should support Wireshark and not conflict with FreeAXP.<hr>
