I have problem conecting with ssh to a FreeAxp machine was created by thein

I have a ubuntu linux box . on the Linux box i have Oracle Virtual box where I keep a Windows 7 machine.
which hosts the FreeAXP software . The OpenVms machine starts tcpip. and i can ping its own TCPip address. But if I try pinging the OpenVMS machine from the ubuntu linux box it does not answer.
I use the bridge adapter in virtual box settings for WIN7 machine
