Loss of console output was created by cct
Running VSI OpenVMS V8.4-2L1 under FreeAXP x64 version 4.0.0.649 under Windows 10
Suddenly when I boot, half way through, I lose all console output. I can still log in from an SSH session, but no output on the console session,
Interestingly I can still log in on the console, but still no output. This has happened on every boot in the last three days. On the 12th I changed the config file to call PuTTY with a saved config and tidied the disk file names, but I have booted many times without issue. I have checked the PuTTY settings, and they look fine.
A show terminal command on the console (output to file) show nothing amiss, although it hasn't picked up the terminal type correctly:
< class='quote' style='width:400px;white-space:nowrap;overflow:auto'>

Terminal: _OPA0: Device_Type: Unknown Owner: SYSTEM
â⊠Input: 9600 LFfill: 0 Width: 80 Parity: None
Output: 9600 CRfill: 0 Page: 24
ââŠTerminal Characteristics:
Interactive Echo Type_ahead No Escape
No Hostsync TTsync Lowercase No Tab
Wrap Scope No Remote No Eightbit
Broadcast No Readsync No Form Fulldup
No Modem No Local_echo No Autobaud No Hangup
No Brdcstmbx No DMA No Altypeahd Set_speed
No Commsync Line Editing Insert editing No Fallback
No Dialup No Secure server No Disconnect No Pasthru
No Syspassword No SIXEL Graphics No Soft Characters No Printer Port
Numeric Keypad No ANSI_CRT No Regis No Block_mode
No Advanced_video No Edit_mode No DEC_CRT No DEC_CRT2
No DEC_CRT3 No DEC_CRT4 No DEC_CRT5 No Ansi_Color
VMS Style Input <CTRL-H> Backspace

Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks

The implication would be something in the boot processes is termination console output. Do you see the problem with a different VMS disk?

Not tried that, but I doubt the issue is with VMS, as all output is gone - including console output after shutdown. An interactive session seems to work OK - ie input is OK, just nothing at all output.
Is there a way of increasing what is logged to the host?

Are you connecting to OPA0 or TTA0? The behavior you describe sounds like you are booting from TTA0.
