I am having issues moving files between my PWS433AU Alpha (currently HP VMS V8.3 with TCP V5.7 - ECO 5) and Free AXP running VSI VMS V8.4-2L1
PWS shows connected at 100 Mbits/sec
Free AXP is set to emulate DE500 (21143) and shows connected at 10 Mbits/sec. It has a dedicated NIC under Win 10. The system is well spec-ed, and not overloaded.
Both are connected to Draytek 6920
I tried to copy a 1.37Gb backup saveset from the PWS but had to kill it - I reckon it would have taken over 80 days!
I later managed to copy a 10Mb file, but that took over 3 hours.
I had better luck using scp, but was it was showing a transfer rate of about 20k
Any thoughts?
Chris

Are you using DECnet or FTP to copy files? I recommend DECnet.

I initially used DECNET, but that seemed untenable. Although DECNET is over TCP/IP thanks to TCP Services.
The scp copy is over TCP/IP
I am looking at moving the FreeAXP node to TCPware. We will see if that improves things...

Check the data rate at the ports on the switch and make sure they've negotiated a reasonable data rate. If auto-negotiate fails, it tends to default to 10Mb.

Even if it did, tye transfer rates are way below 10Mbps
I cannot actually see the negotiated speed, but Windows sees the NIC at 1Gbps
